Qigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) is an ancient Chinese practice that decreases stress and increases energy, supporting physical and emotional balance. “Qi” refers to animating life force energy that exists within us and all around us. “Gong” means work or skill.

Classes will incorporate a variety of movements and postures including deep breathing, warm up and stretching exercises, and relaxing, flowing movements. Qigong is like a moving meditation that mirrors nature. Through release of stagnancy and tension as well as cultivation and circulation of energy, Qigong practice can bring vitality to the body, balance to the emotions, and calmness to the mind.

No experience required. Participants are encouraged to tune into their own body and adjust movements and positions to be comfortable.

This will be a standing practice. Please wear comfortable clothes that allow full mobility. Wear shoes that are comfortable with grip, with optional barefoot practice once you determine if that would be best for you on the original wood flooring of the practice space.

Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign in and settle into the space. As the space can get chilly in colder weather, we recommend wearing layers for your comfort. Please bring water or tea if desired.
